I returned to photography after ten years in software — engineering, then product management — and the habits carried over more than I expected. Systems thinking is just a way of paying close attention, and that's most of what photography is.

I now manage production at Hallman Woodworks in Roseburg, Oregon where I photograph finished interiors along with the process behind them — the shop floor, the half-built pieces, the craft in progress. It's work I'd take on for any business that wants that same kind of documentary coverage.

On the side, I shoot personal work on digital medium format, and 35mm film when I want to slow down.
